John Kerry Fiasco

To John Kerry

KERRY VIDEO HERE. I know,I know, everyone and their mother is talking about this, but I can't not post anything about it. I cannot believe the set this guy must have! This is the same guy ALOT OF PEOPLE voted for! I honestly believe this moron did not mean it the way it "came out", but to still keep on with his malicious remarks with no apology? I can understand why people dis-approve the war in Iraq. Has it gone perfect?- No - Of course not- Which war has ever been perfect? Has this been a total failure? -ASOLUTELY NOT- Look at this great production from the Glenn Beck Team for proof of that. I look at it this way: Put yourself in Bush's shoes and if it was you on that horrible day of 9/11 and the whole world was looking at you to some how avenge what had happened-What would you do? If you address the nation and say "We will find and take care of the culprits" without going into any kind of war-like actions. Then without a doubt you would get criticism for basically doing nothing about what had happened that day. I believe that he and previous presidential camps knew of the danger that was Saddam Hussein and Bush used this as a perfect time to invade. Was this exactly the right move? No-probably not- We are facing a HUGE radical islam following that is not going away for generations to come. Some people think that by going into Iraq got us closer to Iran-which has shown to be a large-if not most of-the culprit for alot of terrorism lately. -END RANT- Maybe someone will actually comment for once?

MAY for $12.71. " As a child, May (Angela Bettis) had a lazy eye and had to wear a patch, which kept other children from befriending her. Her mother gave her a handmade doll, which became her only companion. Now, as a young adult, the doll is still May's only friend. But when she meets Adam (Jeremy Sisto) at a coffee shop and feels a strong attraction toward him, she tries to overcome her shyness and pursue him. When he ends their very brief relationship, however, it cements May's belief that no person is entirely good--only PARTS of them are good--and she decides to put that concept into frightening practice. A bizarre, darkly comic, and bloody horror treat, MAY is a strikingly original directorial debut from Lucky McKee."

icon
iconTHE MACHINIST for $12.71. " Christian Bale delivers one of cinema's most sacrificial performances in Brad Anderson's mesmerizing thriller. Written by Scott Kosar (2003's THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE), THE MACHINIST takes place in a bleak and nondescript American city, where Trevor Reznick (Bale) is quite literally withering away to nothing. During the day Trevor works in a colorless industrial factory, while at night he seeks refuge in the bed of a tender prostitute, Stevie (Jennifer Jason Leigh). For reasons unknown even to Trevor, he hasn't been able to sleep for an entire year. In the process, he has shed over sixty pounds, making him look like a walking skeleton. After an accident at the factory costs Trevor his job, he finds himself tracking a mysterious figure that may or may not, in fact, provide some answers to his confusion. Meanwhile, he begins to connect with a pretty airport waitress, Marie (Aitana Sanchez-Gijon), who shows Trevor some much-needed sympathy. By the time the film builds to its revelatory conclusion, it becomes quite clear just what has been tormenting Trevor all along.

Anderson and Kosar's vision is brought to spectacular life by cinematographer Xavi Gimenez and composer Roque Banos, whose haunting atmospherics recall the best work of Alfred Hitchcock. And then, of course, there is Bale, whose performance is as terrifying, brave, and devastating as the screen has ever seen."

iconOLDBOY for $18.36. A definate stand-out film among a mass influx of Asian imports. " It would be a sin to reveal too much about this riveting and bizarre thriller from Korean director Chan Wook Park, except to say that it's about a man named Dae-Su (Choi Min-Sik) who is locked in a hotel room for 15 years without knowing his captor's motives. When he is finally released, Dae Su finds himself still trapped in a web of conspiracy and strangeness. His own quest for vengeance becomes tied in with romance when he falls for an attractive sushi chef (Gang Hye-Jung), who feeds him live octopus and who may or may not be involved with the bizarre mystery. This is all served up in a striking palette of purples and dark reds; oozing with post-neo-noir style, and stuffed with insanely malicious twists and turns. Choi Min-Sik is terrific in the lead, counterbalancing over-the-top hysterics with deadpan cool to run the gamut of Asian antihero traits. There are intense fight scenes (Dae Su's favorite weapon is a hammer), look-away moments of torture and self-mutilation, sex, and gallons of black humor. Not for the squeamish, but for those seeking something wholly original and daring, this cinematic entree is alive--it's hard to imagine a better slice of psycho-shock sensationalism."

Saw 4 in the works...

"Whether film-makers Whannell and Wan, both 29, are involved or not in Saw IV, Hollywood studio Lions Gate and production company Twisted Pictures will likely go ahead with the fourth in the series.

"I don't know personally if I would want to do it or not," Leigh Whannell said of the potential fourth film.

"As a creator, I'm starting to feel like I'm painting with the same brush.

"I'm really happy with the third film and in some ways I would not mind going out on top." Read more of the story at SMH.com

Mom gives baby COCAINE!!

This low-life scum should be forced to take a few grams until ,she too, dies of an overdose. Worthless waste of space! " A woman whose year-old daughter died of a drug overdose was charged with murder after police found traces of cocaine in the baby's bottle, police said Monday.

Daniela Toledo do Prado, 21, brought her daughter Vitoria to the hospital on Saturday night, complaining that the child was suffering from convulsions caused by drinking spoiled milk.

The child vomited repeatedly and died of heart failure early Sunday, police investigator Paulo Roberto Rodrigues said.

Doctors found a suspicious white powder on the girl's tongue. The mother claimed the powder was milk but it tested positive for cocaine, Rodrigues said.

Police searched the mother's house and found a hypodermic needle and a bottle hidden behind a shelf in a baby supply bag. The bottle and the needle had traces of cocaine.

"In my 26 years in the profession, I have never seen a mother trying to poison her own child," said Rodrigues.

Rodrigues said Prado did not remember whether she had put cocaine in the bottle.

Prado was charged with homicide and could face between 12 and 30 years in prison if convicted. "-Story from Breitbart.com

Saw Makes the Cut...

"I'm told that Lionsgate's Saw III cut through the competition by opening huge with $14 million Friday and $11.3 million Saturday (down 19% from the previous night) from 3,167 theaters for what was a $33.4 weekend. That massive debut was better than Saw II (which earned $12.1 mil its first day out for a $31.7 mil weekend). Disney's holdover from last week The Prestige, dropped from #2 Friday ($2.9 mil, -43% from last) to #3 after Saturday ($4.1 mil) for what was a $9.4 mil weekend and a new cume of $28.6 mil. Instead, 2nd best went to Warner Bros. holdover The Departed, stretching its legs for its fourth weekend and increasing its Best Picture/Best Director Oscar chances (because Academy voters always take note of how popular possible contenders are with the public)."In 4th place was Paramount /Dreamworks' holdover Flags Of Our Fathers with $1.9 mil on Friday (down 46%), and $2.8 mil Saturday. Though critically lauded, the Clint Eastwood-directed war movie with no stars continues to be a box office disappointment; it had only a $6.3 mil weekend and a new cume of just $19.9 mil. Even after five weeks out, Sony's first homegrown animated pic Open Season continues to outperform expectations for No. 5, earning $1.4 mil Friday and $2.3 mil Saturday (that kiddie bounce) for a strong $5.5 mil weekend and a cume around $76.7 mil. Fox's family friendly holdover Flicka made $1.4 million Friday (down 44%) and $2 mil Saturday for #6. That was a $4.9 mil weekend and cume of about $14 mil. Universal's Man Of The Year, after three weeks out, expanded its theater count to earn $1.4 mil Friday and $2.2 mil Saturday for 7th place and a $4.7 mil weekend and cume around $28.8 mil -- disappointing for a Robin Williams starrer.-Nikki Finke

Studio 60 -No More...

"Cast members are already confiding in friends that the end is near. It’s likely NBC will pull the plug shortly I am told by insiders.

Last week, Studio 60 had 7.7 million viewers. Compare that with competing "CSI: Miami," with 17.5 million. That gap cannot be closed.

But ‘Studio 60’ has trouble internally at NBC, forget its intramural rivals. According to ratings stats, the “Saturday Night Live” behind the scenes soap opera loses almost half the viewers delivered to it a few minutes earlier by another new show, “Heroes,” which has become a surprise cult hit."---"There is one winner to come out of 'Studio 60,' however: Matthew Perry. In this show he’s proven himself to be a star on his own separate from "Friends." His comedic timing and ability to ad lib, toss off lines, and give restrained physical reactions is what keeps 'Studio 60' even remotely interesting. We can only be hopeful that someone comes up with a great new show for him quickly—but a comedy that’s funny, not a drama that isn’t."-FOXNEWS

Drive-In Horror Flicks...

I'm too young to have experienced the great b movie horror features, but this is an interesting essay taken from a great blog at http://sergioleoneifr.blogspot.com/"The very idea of being able to sit in a drive-in and soak up The Oblong Box, The Conqueror Worm, Horror House and The Crimson Cult was the height of excitement for me as a young movie buff who rarely, if ever, had the opportunity to actually attend such a bounteous banquet of fear. And I just loved the print ad campaigns for the AIP films— I still do. There was a certain wonderful ripeness about them, and everything from the ad copy to the terrifying fonts in which the titles were rendered seemed so specific and exact—they sold the purplish terrors we horror fans so badly wanted to find on the screen. AIP’s ads had a great sense of graphic continuity too that made them instantly recognizable (at least to these eyes)—it was gratifying to me that somewhere in the world such a Ghoul-o-Rama was playing, and if I could only know about it by looking in the Oregonian, well, that’d have to do. The American International ads made that looking almost as much fun as seeing the movies themselves, and in the case of The Crimson Cult, I know I imagined a much better movie just looking in the movie pages than the one that played out for me when I eventually saw it at home."---
"What’s fun about these very nicely put-together layouts is their relentless busy-ness and all the extra added info for potential patrons who wanted to read closer (something the relatively poor reproduction here makes difficult). How thoughtful of the theater to provide FREE mystic potion to all patrons so that they might all take part in the WEIRD RITES of The Mad Doctor of Blood Island as they happen! And that challenge—“Who Can’t Be Scared? You?!” Why, give me a ticket, Mister! I'll show you I can take it! And who wouldn’t want to grab a carload of wisenheimers and check out Sherry Leonard, Queen of the Snakes, and her living pets IN PERSON?!! What a wonderful drive-in age, when this kind of merry exploitation was fairly commonplace!"Drive-In Horror PosterI found a few of these movies on Dvd over at DarkSkyFilms.com.

Attention!:The Following Artists...

You have cash waiting for you! I'm not sure of how legitimite this claim is buuut:"If the RIAA-formed SoundExchange cannot locate the artists by December 15, 2006, all the performance royalties collected from 1996 to 2000 on the artists' behalf will be forfeited and SoundExchange gets to keep them. Songwriters and musicians get royalties when their music is played in public, on the radio or in clubs. With the advent of Internet radio and digital cable broadcasts, performers are also entitled to royalties. SoundExchange collects these. A few examples are: 16 Horsepower

The CD is DEAD...

Alain Levy-CEO of EMI Music-told a group of people in London recently: "The CD as it is right now is dead," Levy said, adding that 60% of consumers put CDs into home computers in order to transfer material to digital music players.
EMI Music is part of EMI Group PLC (EMI.LN).
But there remains a place for physical media, Levy said.
"You're not going to offer your mother-in-law iTunes downloads for Christmas," he said. "But we have to be much more innovative in the way we sell physical content."
Record companies will need to make CDs more attractive to the consumer, he said.
"By the beginning of next year, none of our content will come without any additional material," Levy said.
CD sales accounted for more than 70% of total music sales in the first half of 2006, while digital music sales were around 11% of the total, according to music industry trade body the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry.
CD sales were worth $6.45 billion and digital sales $945 million, the IFPI said.
Levy said EMI is continuing to hold talks with Google Inc. (GOOG) on an advertising-revenue sharing partnership with the community video Web site YouTube, which the Internet search giant acquired in October for $1.6 billion in stock.
EMI's rivals, Warner Music Group Corp. (WMG), Sony BMG - a joint venture between Sony Corp. (SNE) and Bertelsmann AG - and Universal Media have all signed content deals with YouTube.
"The terms they were offering weren't acceptable," Levy said, adding that EMI continues to be concerned about copyright issues."-marketwatch

How is this even possible?

" The district attorney prosecuting three Duke lacrosse players accused of raping a woman at a team party said during a court hearing Friday that he still hasn't interviewed the accuser about the facts of the case.

"I've had conversations with (the accuser) about how she's doing. I've had conversations with (the accuser) about her seeing her kids," Mike Nifong said. "I haven't talked with her about the facts of that night. ... We're not at that stage yet." More story HERE.

15 yr old idiot burns flag...

They should send this stupid girl over to Iraq to fend for herself: "AP - A northeast Iowa teenager accused of burning an American flag is charged with second-degree arson and desecration of a flag under the state's flag desecration law.

Maryann Beck, 15, of Independence is accused of setting the flag on fire at the local VFW hall Tuesday night.

Police Chief Douglas Rasmussen says it was “a pure act of vandalism”. He says flag was on a flag pole outside the hall when it was set on fire.

Iowa law makes it illegal to publicly mutilate, deface, defile or defy the American flag.

Rasmussen says Beck was charged as a juvenile and she was turned over to her parents.

He declined to comment on a possible motive."

DOG SOLDIERS for $9.99. Great werewolf movie directed by Neil Marshall. "Something evil lurks in the wilds of Scotland, and this unfortunate troop of soldiers are about to stumble upon it. A routine exercise takes an unexpected turn when the troop discovers a ravaged bunch of dead soldiers out in the woods. With dusk quickly turning to night, and an ominous full-moon lighting up the sky, the soldiers decide to hide-out in an abandoned farmhouse. With their supplies and morale both in short supply, the soldiers become trapped in the farmhouse by a pack of hungry werewolves who seem hellbent on enjoying the soldiers for dinner. Can anything stop them?

SUSPIRIA for $12.71. " Dario Argento's masterpiece of horror, with its assault of garish colors, booming soundtrack and horrifically dreamlike set pieces, is the cinematic equivalent of an exceptionally scary fun house. It tells the story of Susan (Harper) a young, impressionable American who travels abroad in order to study at a prestigious European ballet academy. From the first day, however, she begins to realize that frightening things are afoot at the hallowed institution. Enduring a rain of maggots, poisoned food and other unpleasant occurrences, she discovers that the school is a secret convening place for an ages-old witches' coven. Cut to various lengths due to violent content, the film's original full running time is 100 minutes. "

icon
icon
INFERNO for $9.99. " The tenants of a Manhattan apartment are terrorized by deadly spirits. Among other equally gruesome things, they are decapitated, clawed to death by cats, burned, and attacked by a knife-wielding killer. Another stylish horror opus from the incomparable Argento. INFERNO acts as a semi-sequel to his previous film SUSPIRIA (1977), involving the same witch-lore. This time around, there are a few very memorable set-pieces, most notably an eerie, breathtaking underwater scene. Stylish, violent, and classy all at the same time."--You cannot call yourself a "horror fan" without seeing these two ARGENTO greats!

Some Country News for YA'LL...

First we have the not so good-but not the worst news: TMZ reports that Pretty Boy Keith Urban has entered rehab for alcoholism."According to a statement issued by Urban's publicist, the country singer checked himself in last night with Nicole Kidman, his wife of four months, by his side.

Urban says, "I deeply regret the hurt this has caused Nicole and the ones that love and support me." He adds, "One can never let one's guard down on recovery and I'm afraid that I have." Wish him the best.---------------------Now on to the absurd and sick news of the day. I did not learn of this until today! Why has this not been a HUGE issue in the news?!! On August 16th 2006 TMZ reported that:"Troy Lee Gentry, of the country singing duo Montgomery Gentry, has been accused of killing a tame black bear that federal officials say he tagged as killed in the wild.

Gentry, 39, of Franklin, Tenn., and Lee Marvin Greenly, 46, of Sandstone, appeared Tuesday before U.S. Magistrate Judge Raymond Erickson in connection with a sealed indictment returned by a federal grand jury in Minneapolis.

Authorities allege that Gentry purchased the bear from Greenly, a wildlife photographer and hunting guide, then killed it with a bow and arrow in an enclosed pen on Greenly's property in October 2004. The government alleges that Gentry and Greenly tagged the bear with a Minnesota hunting license and registered the animal with the state Department of Natural Resources as a wild kill.

Gentry allegedly paid about $4,650 for the bear, named Cubby. The bear's death was videotaped, and the tape later edited so Gentry appeared to shoot the animal in a "fair chase" hunting situation, the government alleges.

If convicted, both Gentry and Greenly face a maximum penalty of five years in federal prison and a $20,000 fine. Gentry's manager, Johnny Dorris, said Wednesday that Gentry, an outdoorsman and hunter, expects to be exonerated." I hope this idiot goes to jail for the full Five Years and then gets eaten by a bear on his way home!

Nolan was director, screenwriter, co-producer, director of photography, and co-editor, and only able to shoot on Saturdays--the filming took a year. Set in the grimy streets of London, the tightly wound thriller unfolds in a series of overlapping plots, each more intricate than the last, each pulling Bill deeper and deeper into ever worse trouble. Following may be short in length and cheaply made; it is also devastating."--Two more must sees!

Its actors are primarily young unknowns, its special effects consist of beautiful photography overlays and flashes of light with lots of shadow play, and its settings are rich and dramatic. The soundtrack is one of the film's truest strengths, with excellent music from Brian Eno, Blue States, Grandaddy, and Godspeed You Black Emperor guiding the action from the first minutes through to the last." Direction by Danny Boyle.

iconHIGH TENSION for $12.71. "French director Alexandre Aja (FURIA) hauls the slasher film back to its roots with his gore-addled romp HIGH TENSION. Aja prevents the film from lapsing into parody by packing a mind-bending twist into the plot. A valuable and fun addition to the canon of slasher films, HIGH TENSION shows there is still plenty of life left in the genre."

iconLOST IN TRANSLATION for $12.71. "With LOST IN TRANSLATION, Sofia Coppola cements her reputation as a thoughtful and inventive filmmaker. Every element of the movie is pitch-perfect, from the dreamy, atmospheric score to the expertly timed editing to the lingering shots of the characters and the city. Most importantly, Coppola's minimalist script allows Murray and Johansson to give astonishingly moving yet subtle performances as people who are lost in the limbo of a foreign country, but find each other for comfort and companionship. Both heartbreakingly sad and hilariously funny, Coppola's LOST IN TRANSLATION is that rare movie in which everything is in its right place."
